Ivy, Physical Therapy Assistant
Ivy joined the team at Balance Plus Physical Therapy in June 2008. She is currently working toward a human biology major at the University of California, San Diego. Ivy plans to continue her education and become a pediatric physical therapist.
Her passion for physical therapy developed at a young age. While in high school, Ivy worked in the special education department as a peer tutor for a student with blindness. She helped the student walk and learn to communicate using his speech therapy devices. Helping the student with his rehabilitation reinforced Ivys desire to pursue physical therapy as a career. She also served as the president of her high schools Best Buddies Club, a club which helps students with intellectual disabilities make friends.
In the fall of 2008, Ivy attended massage school at the Meridian International School of Health Sciences. She completed the 100-hour massage technician program, learning the anatomy and methodology of circulation massage.
